Our beginning handbuilding classes cover basic techniques such as wedging, coiling, slab-making, pinching, and glazing fundamentals.

Wheel Throwing for Complete Beginners
Ages 14+
Start with a lump of clay, leave with a pot you made yourself, learning centering, pulling, and shaping along the way. No prior experience required, and don't worry if it doesn't click right away: most people take this class two or three times before it does, so come learn with us.

Handbuilding: Open Level
Ages 14+
First-timers welcome, you'll leave knowing pinching, coiling, extrusion, and slab construction cold. Been here before? Your instructor will help you build on what you know and work on your own projects. Best suited for beginners through intermediate.

Wheel Throwing: Continuing Beginner
Ages 14+
Know the basics but still working on consistency? This class gives you more time for repetition, troubleshooting, and individual feedback on centering, pulling, shaping, and trimming, so the fundamentals finally feel natural. Never taken a wheel class? Start with beginner level instead.

Leveling Up on the Wheel: Form, Scale & Control
Ages 14+
For advanced beginners and intermediate potters ready to build more consistency and confidence, this class tackles taller cylinders, larger clay amounts, and more complex forms. Requires comfort with basic centering and throwing cylinders. Complete beginners should start with an intro wheel class instead.
